Military Hovercraft

Military Hovercraft

Hovercraft are used all over the world for a variety of different purposes, be they heavy lifting gear (zero friction skirt provides a perfect platform for moving heavy objects), tourism, industry or even military uses.

SRN5s were used during the Vietnam war as troop carriers through the low lying waterlogged marshes in the area. The American navy uses LCACs (Landing Craft Air Cushion) to carry troops from ship to shore quickly and effectively without them even getting their feet wet. The Russian military uses their Zubr class hovercraft, now by far the world's largest hovercraft at 535 tonnes!
